Mailing for leaders
Do you live in New York City? Probably not. But for the moment, imagine you live in the Big Apple. Are you ready to start mailing to the hottest list of qualified prospects to build your downline organization? Let's get started. You've picked the right list. You have the hottest multilevel opportunity known to mankind. You've written the perfect motivating sales letter. You offer the finest in upline support. So let the letters flow. Your first response comes from Butte's Bluff, Montana. His letter reads: ************************************Wow! Sounds like a terrific multilevel opportunity. Your upline support system sounds impressive.Very few multilevel leaders offer to give meetings and training anywhere, anytime. So, here's my application. My first meeting will be in the Badger Lodge next Wednesday night. Since I'm brand new to multilevel, could you please bring some extra training tools with you when you come to give the meeting? I'm not sure how many sets you should bring as it will be hard to predict how many guests will be there. I really don't know anybody personally to invite, so I ran a one-minute ad on our local radio station. Who knows? Maybe the lodge will be overflowing with prospects. I don't have a phone yet, so it's impossible to call me with your plane reservations. I'll just assume you'll be on the 6:40 a.m. bush pilot special on Wednesday morning. I'll meet you there. My pickup is broken, but it is only a short walk over the mountain to town. That'll give us time to talk. See you there! Homer Beaner ************************************Ouch! This really hurts. Yes, you did promise upline support. However, the round trip flight is $973 plus lodging. Plus, how many people will be at the Badger Lodge? Historically, a one-minute radio ad will pull zero response. Should you invest $973 plus lodging for the privilege of hiking over the mountain with Homer? Gee, you can't even contact him and give him pointers to run his own meeting. Do you abandon your enthusiastic recruit? Break your word of honor? Get a job at 7-Eleven? An ounce of prevention is worth at least $973. Many years ago a famous MLM mailing expert explained his inside secret to success. He said: "Mail only for leaders. You can't efficiently train and support distributors. Leaders can give their own meetings, train their people, and be productive without your presence. All they ask for is your coaching. So, don't tailor your recruiting letter to distributors. Focus your offer on leaders." Well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this makes sense. To train and nurture a new distributor in Butte's Bluff, Montana could entail several trips a year. For the same investment in time and money, you could effectively coach and help several MLM leaders build their businesses. Hopefully, you could eventually train enough MLM leaders nationwide that a new distributor in Butte's Bluff, Montana would have a full-time MLM leader in his back yard. You can perform a more beneficial service to new recruits by networking them with a local leader. Phone calls are nice, but local support and training are what new recruits desire and deserve. So, when making a multilevel recruiting offer by mail, why not try the following headlines: Are you a successful MLM leader?
