Need more prospects at your opportunity meetings? Try some food.

Why? Free food is irresistible. And sometimes, it's even cheaper than renting a meeting room.

Your regular Tuesday night meeting room costs $200 to rent. You average 10 new guests per meeting. Sure, you have 20 old distributors there too, but each Tuesday night meeting provides an opportunity presentation for those 10 all-important guests.

How do you collect for your meeting room? Do you charge admittance at the door? Have a leadership council that pays dues? Do you pay the meeting room costs yourself?

Why not consider this:

Go to a local restaurant and ask when they are the busiest. They'll say Friday and Saturday nights are their best nights. Then, ask them if they'd be interested in you arranging more business for them on one of the slow nights. They usually won't object to your offer.

Arrange for your opportunity meeting to be at the restaurant on Tuesday nights. The restaurant will give you the back room or banquet room for your group to eat. All your group has to do is pay for the food. You could even arrange a simple special menu for your group.

Let's say that your special meal arrangement came to $9 per person. That means that 10 guests and 10 sponsors equal 20 people eating. Add yourself and that's 21 guests at $9 each for a total of $189. You're getting a meeting room and a meal for everyone for the same price as your regular meeting.

Collection for your meeting rooms is easier now. Everyone pays for his own meal and the meal of his guest. You no longer are in the collection business. And the restaurant is happy too. They have an empty room bringing in new revenue and it gives their employees a chance to work too.

What about the guests? Compare these two invitations and guess which one is more effective:

    1. Come to our opportunity meeting at the Holiday Inn tonight. The meeting starts at 8:00 pm

    2. Come to our business club get-together tonight at Antonio's Pizzaria. You'll get a chance to meet some nice entrepreneurs and get a free meal too. It will be fun.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see which approach will bring more guests.

And what about those distributors who just show up week after week and never bring a guest? Well, they have to eat too, so why not with their fellow distributors?

Eating with friends can be fun and profitable.
